The declaration also pointed out to the negative impact of the 11 of September attacks, war on Iraq and the Israeli occupation on the travel industry in the Middle East. It was agreed on setting up and implementing certain policies and strategies for sustainable tourism development that should be executed jointly between the public and private sectors on national and regional levels, based on a strong basis of researches. They stressed upon the need for broader national and regional cooperation in the field of tourism to cover the exchange of information and expertise as well as constant consultations.
